1. Open Rich Text Editing Mode

Entry path: Message bar → Rich Text Editing button (Aa)

  1. Open a WPS collaboration one-to-one chat window.
  2. Find the Aa icon in the toolbar of the message bar at the bottom.
  3. Click the icon to expand the rich text toolbar.
  4. Confirm that the toolbar shows options for text styles, lists, links, emojis, and screenshots.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A rich text toolbar appears above or within the current message input area.
  • Next action available: You can type a message and apply formatting tools immediately.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you are not inside a chat window, the entry point may not appear.

2. Apply Text Styles

Entry path: Rich text toolbar → B / I / A

  1. Type the message content you want to send.
  2. Select the text you want to format, or click a style button before typing new text.
  3. Click B to apply bold.
  4. Click the italic button to apply italic formatting.
  5. Click A and choose a text color from the drop-down options.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected text shows the expected bold, italic, or color effect.

  1. Enter the content you want to organize.
  2. Click the numbered list button to add an ordered list.
  3. Click the bulleted list button to add bullet points.
  4. Select the text that should contain the link, or place the cursor where the link should appear.
  5. Enter or paste the target URL to finish inserting the hyperlink.
  • Interface result: The message shows numbered items, bullet points, or clickable linked text.

4. Insert Emojis or Screenshots and Send the Message

Entry path: Rich text toolbar → Emoji / Screenshot / Send

  1. Click the emoji button to insert an emoji into the message.
  2. Click the screenshot button to capture the needed screen area and insert it into the message.
  3. Review the text, formatting, and inserted content before sending.
  4. Click Send in the lower-right area to send the rich text message.
  5. If needed, click the close button on the right side of the toolbar to exit rich text mode.

  • Interface result: The message is sent successfully and keeps its formatting in the chat history.
  • Next action available: You can continue typing another message or return to plain input mode.
