How-to Index

How-to Guide

Entry point: Cloud document view → top search bar

  1. Click Document in the left navigation pane to open the cloud document view.
  2. Find the search bar at the top of the page.
  3. Enter your keyword in the search box.
  4. Press Enter to send the search request, and WPS will automatically search for matching documents.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The content area on the right starts showing document results related to the keyword.
  • Next actions: You can switch search conditions or open the target file directly.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you are not in the Document view, you may not see the search entry.
  • Environment limits: Searching cloud documents requires an internet connection and a signed-in account.

2. Search Documents with Conditions

Entry point: Cloud document search bar → search drop-down panel

  1. Click the search box, or enter a keyword first to expand the search drop-down panel.
  2. Review the available conditions at the top of the panel, including file name, body text, type, creator, time, and location.
  3. Click the category tag you want to use and switch to that search condition.
  4. Enter a keyword in the search box, and the system filters matching results based on the current condition.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The drop-down panel or results area shows more precise matches based on the selected condition.
  • Next actions: You can continue changing conditions to narrow the search range step by step.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: When multiple conditions are used together, the result range becomes smaller and may appear to return no matches.
  • Environment limits: You can search only documents that the current account has permission to access.

3. Review Search Results

Entry point: Cloud document view → document list area

  1. After searching or filtering, review the matching document list in the content area on the right.
  2. Check the file type icon, file name, file location, creator, last modified time, and file size for each record.
  3. Use the list details to identify the target file and open the document you need.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The results list shows key information for matching documents.
  • Next actions: You can confirm the target further by name, location, or time and then open it.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: Looking only at the file name can make same-name files hard to distinguish, so it is helpful to also check location and creator.
  • Environment limits: Results cover only cloud documents that the current account can access.
