How-to Guide
1. Open the Customize Workbench page
Entry path: Enterprise admin console → Left navigation pane → Customize Workbench
- Open the enterprise admin console.
- In the left navigation pane, click Customize Workbench.
- Review the four-step flow on the page: Create Workbench, Configure Workbench, Publish Workbench, and Enable Workbench.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The Customize Workbench management area and the four-step flow are visible.
- Next action available: You can continue to create a workbench or open other settings.
Tips While Using
- Enterprise admin permissions are required.
- A normal network connection is required to open the page.
2. Create a workbench
Entry path: Customize Workbench page → Create Workbench
- On the Customize Workbench page, click Create Workbench.
- In the dialog box, enter a workbench name. The name can contain up to 50 characters.
- In Visibility Scope, add members or departments.
- In Enabled Views, select Desktop View or Mobile View.
- Click OK to finish creation.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The new workbench appears in the workbench list.
- Next action available: You can continue to configure, publish, and enable the workbench.
Tips While Using
- Use a workbench name that members can recognize easily.
- If a view is not enabled, that client will not display the workbench.
3. Set sorting management
Entry path: Customize Workbench page → Sorting Management
- On the Customize Workbench page, click Sorting Management.
- In the dialog box, select Allow employees to customize sorting so employees can adjust app order in the workbench.
- If needed, select Allow employees to hide workbenches so employees can hide workbenches they do not need.
- Click OK to save the settings.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The sorting management settings are saved successfully.
- Next action available: Employees can later reorder or hide workbenches within the allowed scope.
Tips While Using
- Turning this on increases flexibility on the employee side.
- It is helpful to confirm internal display rules before enabling it.
4. Set general settings
Entry path: Customize Workbench page → General Settings
- On the Customize Workbench page, click General Settings.
- In the dialog box, choose Tab Switching or Drop-down Switching.
- Click OK to save the setting.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The display mode for multiple workbenches is updated to the selected option.
- Next action available: Members can later switch between workbenches with the new display mode.
Tips While Using
- When there are many workbenches, drop-down switching is easier to manage in one place.
- When there are fewer workbenches, tab switching is more direct.
5. Complete publish and enable preparation
Entry path: Workflow prompts on the Customize Workbench page
- After creating a workbench, continue to the Configure Workbench step.
- After finishing the required configuration, run Publish Workbench.
- After publishing, continue to Enable Workbench.
- Confirm that the correct Desktop View or Mobile View option is selected.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The workbench completes the follow-up flow after creation.
- Next action available: Eligible members can see the workbench in the corresponding client.
Tips While Using
- Creating a workbench alone does not make it appear in the client.
- You need to complete configuration, publishing, and enabling in sequence.
