How-to Guide
1. Open the search box at the top
Entry point: Search box at the top of the collaboration chat interface
- Open WPS on Windows and enter the collaboration chat interface.
- Look at the top of the window and find the search box.
- Click the search box to prepare for input or continue to more search options.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the search box at the top becomes active for input.
- Next action available: you can see a drop-down menu or continue to the next search step.
Tips While Using
- If you are not in the collaboration chat interface, the related search entry may not appear.
- It is helpful to confirm that your account is signed in so chat data can load normally.
2. Open the Search More page
Entry point: Search box at the top → Search More
- Click the search box at the top.
- Find Search More in the drop-down menu.
- Click Search More to open the search page.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the page switches to a fuller search view.
- Next action available: you can see different search categories at the top of the page.
Tips While Using
- If the drop-down menu does not open, click the search box again.
- On a slower network, the search page may take a moment to load.
3. Switch to the Chat Files tab
Entry point: Tab bar at the top of the search page → Chat Files
- After opening the search page, look at the tab bar at the top.
- Find the Chat Files tab.
- Click Chat Files to switch to the file search view.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the page shows the area for chat file results.
- Next action available: you can enter a file name or keyword in the search box.
Tips While Using
- If you stay in another category, the results may not be file results.
- Switching to the file category before entering keywords helps narrow the results.
4. Search chat files and review results
Entry point: Search box inside the Chat Files tab
- In the Chat Files tab, click the search input box.
- Enter a file name or keyword.
- Review the returned list of chat file results.
- Click the target file and follow the on-screen options to preview or download it.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the result list shows matching chat files.
- Next action available: you can open the target file for the next step.
Tips While Using
- The feature can search many file types, including images, documents, and compressed files.
- Expired files or files deleted on the server may not appear in results.
- Some files may have download limits because of administrator security settings.
