1. Open the Message Notifications settings page

Entry path: WPS Teams main interface → profile picture at the lower left → Settings → Message Notifications

  1. Open the WPS Teams main interface.
  2. Click the profile picture area at the lower left.
  3. Select Settings in the pop-up menu.
  4. In the left panel of Settings, click Message Notifications.
  5. Review the notification settings shown on the right side.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Message notification settings appear on the right side.
  • Next action available: You can continue adjusting sounds, pop-ups, and privacy display options.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you are not in the WPS Teams main interface first, the entry may be harder to find.

2. Set message sounds

Entry path: Settings → Message Notifications → New message sound / Call and meeting invitation sound

  1. Open the Message Notifications settings page.
  2. Find New message sound.
  3. Turn the option on or off to decide whether a sound plays for new messages.
  4. Find Call and meeting invitation sound.
  5. Turn the option on or off to decide whether a sound plays for calls or meeting invitations.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected sound options show the updated state.
  • Next action available: Future messages or invitations follow the current setting.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: In-app sound settings do not change the overall system volume.

3. Set message pop-up notifications

Entry path: Settings → Message Notifications → Message pop-up notifications

  1. Open the Message Notifications settings page.
  2. Find Message pop-up notifications.
  3. Turn it on to show a desktop pop-up when a new message arrives.
  4. Turn it off to stop desktop pop-ups for new messages.

Success Criteria

  • Environment note: If macOS does not allow notifications for the app, desktop pop-ups may not appear.

4. Set the notification pop-up style

Entry path: Settings → Message Notifications → Notification pop-up style

  1. Open the Message Notifications settings page.
  2. Go to the Notification pop-up style area.
  3. Select Show message details to display the sender and message content in the notification.
  4. Select Hide message details to show only a general message reminder.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected style is shown as active.
  • Next action available: Future notifications follow the current privacy display style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Hiding message details affects the notification pop-up only, not the full message shown in the chat panel.

5. Set where notifications open in the app

Entry path: Settings → Message Notifications → In-app notification opening method

  1. Open the Message Notifications settings page.
  2. Find the In-app notification opening method area.
  3. Select Chat panel to open the message in the chat panel after clicking a notification.
  4. Select Main app window to switch to the WPS Teams main window after clicking a notification.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected opening method is marked as active.
  • Next action available: Future notification clicks open messages in the selected location.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the current window is not active, the switching result after clicking a notification may differ from your expectation.

6. Set notification behavior during calls and meetings

Entry path: Settings → Message Notifications → Close message pop-up notifications during calls and meetings

  1. Open the Message Notifications settings page.
  2. Find Close message pop-up notifications during calls and meetings.
  3. Turn it on to stop message pop-up notifications during calls and meetings.
  4. Turn it off to allow message pop-ups outside screen sharing and casting scenarios.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The option shows the updated state.
  • Next action available: Message pop-up behavior follows the current setting during calls or meetings.
