1. Enter multi-select mode

Entry path: Message area → Right-click → Multi-select

1. Open the WPS collaboration chat interface.
2. In the chat message area, right-click any message.
3. In the context menu, select Multi-select.
4. After multi-select mode starts, a checkbox appears next to each message and an action bar appears at the bottom.
5. To select consecutive messages more quickly, hold Shift while selecting.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: Checkboxes appear next to chat messages and the bottom action bar is visible.
• Next action available: You can continue selecting messages and open the More menu from the bottom bar.

Tips While Using

• Common mistake: If you do not right-click a message first, multi-select mode may not open.
• Environment note: You need to be inside a collaboration chat conversation that supports message actions.

2. Select messages and use Merge and Pin

Entry path: Multi-select mode → Bottom action bar → More → Merge and Pin

1. In multi-select mode, select the messages that you want to merge.
2. After selecting the messages, check the bottom action bar.
3. Click More on the bottom action bar.
4. In the expanded menu, select Merge and Pin.
5. The selected messages are merged into one message and pinned in the current chat.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: A new merged message appears and is pinned at the top of the chat.
• Next action available: Team members can continue reviewing and discussing the pinned merged message.

Tips While Using

• Common mistake: If no messages are selected first, the merge action cannot be completed.
