1. Send a LAN file

Entry path: Message editor toolbar → File button → Send LAN Folder

1. Open a WPS collaboration chat window.
2. In the toolbar at the bottom of the chat window, click the file button.
3. In the drop-down menu, select Send LAN Folder.
4. In the file picker, select the file or folder you want to send.
5. After selection, the file is sent to the current chat and a transfer card appears.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: A file transfer card appears in the chat.
• Next action available: You can wait for the recipient to accept the transfer or continue checking status updates.

Tips While Using

• The sender and recipient need to be on the same LAN.
• Both users need to be signed in to WPS collaboration.

2. Check the waiting-for-acceptance status

1. After sending the file, stay in the current chat window.
2. Check the file transfer card in the chat.
3. Confirm that the card shows a waiting-for-acceptance status.
4. If you want to stop the transfer before it starts, click the close button on the left side of the card.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The card shows a blue folder icon, file details, and a waiting status.
• Next action available: You can wait for the recipient to accept the file or cancel the transfer.

Tips While Using

• This status means the transfer has not started yet.
• The transfer continues only after the recipient is online and clicks receive.

3. Accept a file on the recipient side

Entry path: File transfer card in the recipient's chat

1. On the recipient device, open the related chat.
2. Review the file transfer card and confirm the file name, file size, and LAN transfer label.
3. Click Cancel or Receive as needed.
4. Click Receive to start transferring the file over the LAN.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The card shows both receive and cancel buttons.
• Next action available: After clicking Receive, the transfer enters the in-progress state.

Tips While Using

• The recipient must be online.
• Before the recipient clicks Receive, the sender continues to see the waiting status.

4. View transfer progress

1. After the recipient clicks Receive, check the status area on the file card.
2. Confirm that the card shows an in-progress transfer status.
3. Review the transferred item count, total count, and estimated time.
4. Watch the green progress bar to confirm that the transfer is continuing.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The card shows a progress bar and transfer details.
• Next action available: Wait for the transfer to finish and then check the success state.

Tips While Using

• The current version does not support canceling during transfer.
• Transfer speed depends on the LAN environment.

5. Confirm transfer success

Entry path: File transfer card after completion

1. Wait for the file transfer to finish.
2. Check the file card status in both the sender and recipient chats.
3. Confirm that the card shows a success status with a green check mark.
4. On the recipient device, open the local save location and confirm that the file has been saved.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: Both sides show a successful transfer state.
• Next action available: The recipient can open the received file in File Explorer.

Tips While Using

• If the success state does not appear, first check whether both devices are still on the same LAN.
• The recipient device needs enough storage space to save the file.
