1. Find the feature entry points

Feature entry: the message right-click menu in a group chat, or the Schedule/Tasks icon in the bottom toolbar.

  1. Open the target collaboration group chat.
  2. Move the pointer over a message that you may want to turn into a task.
  3. Right-click the message and check whether the menu shows Add to Tasks.
  4. Then look at the bottom toolbar of the group chat window for the calendar icon.
  5. Hover over the icon and confirm that it shows Schedule/Tasks, then open it and check for the Tasks option.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You can see Add to Tasks in the message menu and the Schedule/Tasks entry in the bottom toolbar.
  • Next action available: You can continue creating a group task from either entry point.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you are not inside a group chat window, the group task entries may not appear.
  • Environment note: Make sure your network connection is available and that you have entered the target group chat.

2. Create a task from a message

Feature entry: message right-click menu → Add to Tasks.

  1. In the group chat window, locate the message that you want to turn into a task.
  2. Right-click the message and select Add to Tasks.
  3. Wait for the task editing panel to appear at the bottom of the chat window.
  4. Check whether the panel already shows the related message content.
  5. After confirming the details, click Create to finish creating the task.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A task editing panel appears at the bottom and shows the message content.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing the assignee and due date before creating the task.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you right-click outside the target message area, the correct menu may not appear.
  • Environment note: The current group chat needs to support group task features.

3. Create a task from the toolbar

Feature entry: group chat window → bottom toolbar → Schedule/Tasks → Tasks.

  1. Open the target group chat window.
  2. Click the calendar icon in the bottom toolbar.
  3. Select Tasks from the drop-down menu.
  4. In the task editing panel, enter the task content.
  5. Click Create to finish creating the task.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The task editing panel opens and lets you enter task content.
  • Next action available: You can continue setting participants and the due date.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you choose another item in the drop-down menu, the task editing panel will not open.
  • Environment note: You need to be inside a group chat and able to use the bottom toolbar.

4. Set the assignee and due date

Feature entry: the assignee and due date area in the task editing panel.

  1. In the task editing panel, review the default assignee setting.
  2. Click the assignee field and select the group member who should handle the task.
  3. Click the due date field and choose Today, Tomorrow, or Other time.
  4. Check the task content, assignee, and due date again.
  5. Click Create to save the task settings.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected assignee and due date are shown in the task panel.
  • Next action available: After creation, you can continue following up on the task in the group task list.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Creating the task before confirming the assignee or date may require later changes.
  • Environment note: The assignee must be a member of the current group.
