When using WPS Group Chat Name, the most common issues fall into 3 areas: permissions, sync, and display; this section answers 3 frequent questions.
FAQ
Will other members see the updated group name after I change it?
- After you save the new group name, the updated name appears in the group chat interface.
- Other members can also see the updated name when they open the group chat or check the chat list.
- If the new name does not appear right away, wait for network sync and check again.
Who can change the group name?
- Open the target group chat and then open the chat settings panel.
- Check whether an edit icon appears next to the current group name.
- If the icon is visible and clickable, the current account has the needed permission. If it does not appear, the account usually does not have that permission.
Why can’t I see the edit icon for the group name?
- Make sure you are in a group chat instead of a one-to-one chat window.
- Make sure you opened the chat settings panel from the upper-right More options entry.
- If the icon still does not appear, check whether the current account has permission to rename the group and confirm that your network connection is working normally.
