1. Open the group avatar settings

Entry: Group chat window → top-right “···” → group avatar icon

  1. Open the target group chat window.
  2. Click the “···” button at the top right to open the chat settings panel.
  3. Click the group avatar icon in the chat settings panel.
  4. Open the Group Avatar page and review the current avatar before making changes.

2. Change the avatar with a local upload

Entry: Group Avatar page → Change Group Avatar → Local Upload

  1. On the Group Avatar page, click the Change Group Avatar button.
  2. In the pop-up window, select Local Upload.
  3. Click the button to choose an image from your Mac.
  4. Select a JPG, JPEG, or PNG file, then review the crop preview on the left and the avatar comparison on the right.
  5. Adjust the crop area and click Confirm to save the new avatar.

  • Next action available: After returning to the chat, the new avatar is visible in the conversation area or chat list.

  3. Enter a group name or label in the avatar text field, with up to 6 characters.
  4. Choose a background color under Avatar Color, then choose Block or Outline under Avatar Style.
  5. Preview the result on the right and click Confirm to save.
