1. Translate a Single Message

Entry path: Right-click a message → Translate

  1. Open the chat window.
  2. Find the message you want to translate.
  3. Right-click the message.
  4. Click Translate in the menu.
  5. Wait for WPS to detect the language and generate the translated result.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A translated result appears below the original message.
  • Next action available: You can continue with more translation-related actions.
  • No side effect: The original message stays unchanged.

Tips While Using

  • Environment limit: An internet connection is required.
  • Common mistake: If you do not right-click the message itself, the Translate option will not appear.

2. View the Translated Result

Entry path: View the result after translation finishes

  1. Complete the message translation.
  2. Check the translated text below the original message.
  3. Confirm the label that indicates the content is AI-generated.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The translated text is shown below the original message.
  • Next action available: You can open the ··· menu at the lower-right corner.
  • No side effect: The order of chat messages does not change.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: It is easy to confuse the original message with the translated result, so review them together with the chat context.

3. Use More Actions for a Translated Result

Entry path: ··· at the lower-right corner of the translated result

  1. Find the ··· button in the translated result area.
  2. Click ··· to open the menu.
  3. Select Copy, Regenerate, Cancel Translation, Switch Language, or Forward as needed.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The menu shows multiple translation-related actions.
  • Next action available: You can copy, regenerate, or forward the result as needed.
  • No side effect: No other result is changed automatically before you choose an action.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not work from the translated result area first, you may click another message action by mistake.

4. Switch the Target Language

Entry path: ··· on the translated result → Switch Language

  1. Translate the message first.
  2. Click ··· at the lower-right corner of the translated result.
  3. Select Switch Language.
  4. Choose a target language from the language list.
  5. Check the updated translated result.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The language list opens and target languages can be selected.
  • Next action available: After selection, you can view a new translated result.
  • No side effect: The original message is not changed.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: You cannot switch the language before the first translation is completed.

5. Cancel a Translated Result

Entry path: ··· on the translated result → Cancel Translation

  1. Click ··· below a message that already shows a translated result.
  2. Select Cancel Translation.
  3. Confirm that the translated result is removed from below the message.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The translated result disappears and only the original message remains.
  • Next action available: You can translate the same message again later.
  • No side effect: The original chat message is not deleted.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Cancel Translation removes only the translated result, not the original message.
