How-to Index

How-to Guide

1. Start a Quoted Reply

Entry: Target message → hover → Reply button

  1. Open the chat and find the message you want to reply to.
  2. Hover over that message with your mouse.
  3. Click Reply in the toolbar that appears on the right side of the message.
  4. If needed, you can also right-click the target message and select Reply.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The compose area switches to reply mode.
  • Next action available: You can see the quoted message summary above the input area and continue typing your reply.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you type without selecting a target message first, the message is sent as a normal message instead of a quoted reply.
  • Environment note: You need to be in a chat where messages can be sent and received normally.

2. Edit the Reply Content

Entry: Compose area → quoted section → text box

  1. After reply mode opens, check the quoted section above the compose box.
  2. Confirm that the sender name and message summary shown in the quoted area are correct.
  3. Type your reply in the text box.
  4. If you do not want to continue, click the close button in the quoted area to exit reply mode.
  5. When the content is ready, click Send.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The compose area shows the quoted message summary and the text box accepts input.
  • Next action available: After sending, a new quoted reply message appears in the conversation.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Sending before checking the quoted target may attach your reply to the wrong message.
  • Usage tip: The @ mention is filled in automatically, and you can adjust it manually if needed.

3. Review the Quoted Result

Entry: Automatically shown in chat after sending

  1. After you send the reply, find the new message in the conversation.
  2. Check the quoted area above the reply text and confirm that it shows the original sender and message summary.
  3. Check the area below the quote and confirm that your new reply content is displayed correctly.
  4. Click the quoted summary and confirm that the chat jumps to the original message.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The conversation shows a quoted card and the reply relationship is clear.
  • Next action available: You can click the quoted area to review the original message quickly.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Treating the quoted card as plain text and missing the jump-to-original interaction.
  • Usage tip: In busy discussions, the quoted area helps separate replies to different messages.
