1. Send LAN files

Entry: Message editor toolbar → File button → Send LAN folder

  1. Open the chat where you want to send the file.
  2. Click the file button in the toolbar at the bottom of the message editor.
  3. Select Send LAN folder.
  4. In the file picker, choose the file or folder you want to send.
  5. After selection, wait for the file to be sent to the current chat automatically.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A file transfer card appears in the chat.
  • Next action: You can wait for the other person to accept it or continue checking later status.

Tips While Using

  • The sender and recipient need to be on the same local network.
  • Both sides need to sign in to WPS Collaboration.

2. Check the waiting-for-receipt status

Entry: The file card in chat after sending

  1. Stay in the current chat after sending the file.
  2. Check the status text at the bottom of the file card.
  3. Confirm that the card shows Waiting for the other party to receive...
  4. If you want to stop this transfer, click the close button on the left side of the card.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The file card shows the waiting-for-receipt status.
  • Next action: You can keep waiting for confirmation or cancel the transfer.

Tips While Using

  • This status means the formal transfer has not started yet.

3. Accept a LAN file

Entry: The transfer card in the recipient's chat

  1. Find the incoming file transfer card in the chat.
  2. Check the file name, file size, and the LAN fast transfer file label.
  3. Click Receive to start the transfer, or click Cancel if you do not want to receive it.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: After you click Receive, the card enters the transferring state.
  • Next action: You can check the progress bar and estimated time.

Tips While Using

  • The recipient must be online and click Receive actively.

4. Check transfer progress

Entry: The transfer card while the file is being transferred

  1. After the transfer starts, check the file card in the chat.
  2. Look at the transfer status text at the bottom of the card.
  3. Check the transferred count, total count, and estimated time.
  4. Use the green progress bar to confirm the current progress.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The card shows a transferring status and a progress bar.
  • Next action: You can keep watching until the transfer is complete.

Tips While Using

  • The current version does not support canceling during transfer.

5. Confirm transfer success

Entry: The file card after transfer is complete

  1. Wait until the transfer finishes.
  2. Check the file card status in both the sender's and recipient's chat windows.
  3. Confirm that the bottom of the card shows Transfer successful with a green check mark.
  4. If needed, the recipient can open the saved file in the local file manager.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Both sides see a successful transfer state on the card.
  • Next action: The recipient can continue using the file locally.

Tips While Using

  • The recipient's file is saved locally automatically.
