1. Quickly choose recently used emoji

Entry: Message box → Emoji button

  1. Open the WPS collaborative chat interface.
  2. Move your pointer over the Emoji button in the message box.
  3. Review the recently used emoji and custom emoji images shown above the button.
  4. Click the emoji you want to insert it into the current message.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: a list of recently used emoji appears above the emoji button.
  • Next action available: the selected emoji is inserted into the message field and can be sent.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: hovering over the input area alone does not show recent emoji; place the pointer on the emoji button.
  • Environment note: you need to be inside the collaborative chat interface.

2. Open and choose emoji

Entry: Message box → Emoji button → Emoji tab

  1. Open the WPS collaborative chat interface.
  2. Click the Emoji button in the message box.
  3. In the panel that opens, select the first emoji tab at the bottom.
  4. Browse Recent or All emoji as needed.
  5. Click the emoji you want to insert it into the message.

  • Interface result: the emoji panel opens and shows emoji content.
  • Next action available: you can keep choosing emoji or send the message.

3. Send a custom emoji image

Entry: Message box → Emoji button → Recent area or custom emoji area

  1. Open the WPS collaborative chat interface.
  2. Click or hover over the Emoji button.
  3. Find the target custom emoji image in the recent area or custom emoji area.
  4. Click the custom emoji image to insert it into the message.
  5. Send the message.

  • Interface result: the selected custom emoji image appears in the input area.
  • Next action available: after sending, the emoji image appears in the chat window.

  • Common mistake: if no custom emoji has been added under the current account, the list may not show any custom items.

4. Add a custom emoji

Entry: Custom emoji panel → +

  1. Open the custom emoji panel.
  2. Click the + button.
  3. Select a local image or GIF file.
  4. After the upload finishes, confirm that the new emoji appears in the custom emoji list.

  • Interface result: the new emoji appears in the custom emoji list.
  • Next action available: you can select and send it directly in chat.
