1. Open the team settings page

Entry: Admin Console → Documents and Teams → Team Settings

  1. Sign in to the WPS 365 enterprise admin console with a super admin account or an admin account that has the required permissions.
  2. Click Documents and Teams.
  3. Open Team Settings.
  4. Find the option named Automatically create related department teams when creating departments.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You are on the Team Settings page and can see the target switch.
  • Next action available: You can turn the feature on or off directly.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you sign in with a regular member account, the admin settings entry may not be visible.
  • Environment note: A normal network connection and admin permissions are required.

2. Turn on the automatic team creation switch

Entry: Admin Console → Documents and Teams → Team Settings → Automatically create related department teams when creating departments

  1. On the Team Settings page, find Automatically create related department teams when creating departments.
  2. Click the switch for this option to turn it on.
  3. Save the current setting.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The switch shows as enabled.
  • Next action available: Newly created departments can now trigger automatic creation of same-name teams.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Turning on the switch without saving may leave the setting inactive.
  • Environment note: Keep the admin console connected while saving the setting.

3. Create a department and trigger automatic team creation

Entry: The new department entry in enterprise organization management

  1. Open the page used to create a new department in enterprise organization management.
  2. Enter the department name and the required basic information.
  3. Submit the department creation.
  4. Wait for the system to create the related team based on the enabled setting.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The department is created successfully.
  • Next action available: You can go to the team list or a related management page to check whether a same-name team has been created.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Departments created before the setting was enabled are not automatically backfilled with teams.
  • Environment note: The department must be created by an admin with organization management permissions.

4. Check the automatic creation result

Entry: Team list or team management page

  1. Open the team management page or team list.
  2. Search for the department name you just created.
  3. Check whether a same-name team has been created.
  4. If needed, continue adjusting the team name, join method, or other team settings.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A team with the same name as the new department is visible.
  • Next action available: You can continue managing team members, permissions, or team information.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Confirming only that the department was created without checking whether the team was also created.
  • Environment note: If the team list contains many items, use search to locate the result faster.
