How-to Index

How-to Guide

1. Create an Email Rule

Entry: Mail Settings → Email Rules → New Rule

  1. Open WPS Mail and click Settings in the upper-right area.
  2. In Mail Settings, switch to the Email Rules tab.
  3. Click New Rule.
  4. Choose conditions such as sender, subject, keywords, or email size, then enter the needed values.
  5. Set the rule to match all conditions or any condition as needed.
  6. Choose an action such as moving to a folder, marking as read, starring, or deleting.
  7. If needed, select the options to apply the rule to matching historical emails and to ignore lower rules after this rule runs.
  8. Click Save to make the rule take effect.

Success Check

  • The rule appears in the Email Rules list.
  • You can continue to edit, reorder, or run the rule once.
  • Messages that do not match the conditions are not processed by this rule.

Notes

  • If conditions are too broad, too many emails may be moved or deleted.
  • If you apply the rule to historical emails, keep the mailbox synced until processing is complete.

2. Manage Rule Priority

Entry: Email Rules list → Drag to reorder

  1. Open Settings and go to the Email Rules list.
  2. Find the rule whose order you want to change.
  3. Drag the rule up or down in the list.
  4. Place more important rules higher in the order.
  5. When needed, enable the option to ignore lower rules after a match to reduce repeated processing.

Success Check

  • The rule list shows the updated order.
  • New emails are matched according to the new sequence.
  • The conditions and actions of unchanged rules stay the same.

Notes

  • If a broad rule is placed too high, it may affect more specific rules below it.
  • After reordering, test with new mail or run a rule once to confirm the result.

3. Edit, Delete, or Run a Rule Once

Entry: Email Rules list → More options (...)

  1. In the Email Rules list, find the target rule.
  2. Click the More option next to that rule.
  3. Choose Edit to change its conditions or actions.
  4. Choose Delete to remove a rule you no longer need.
  5. Choose Run Once to execute the rule manually.
  6. Save your changes and return to the list to confirm the updated result.

Success Check

  • Edited rules show the updated content, or deleted rules are removed from the list.
  • You can continue creating other rules or run the current rule once again later.
  • Manual execution only affects emails that match the rule.

Notes

  • Before deleting a rule, confirm its scope so you do not interrupt your normal sorting flow.
  • Before running a rule once, check that the target folder and conditions are correct.
