1. Add a grouping criterion

Entry: Board View top toolbar → Grouping Criteria → + Add Grouping Criteria

  1. In the left navigation pane, switch to Board View.
  2. Click Grouping Criteria in the top toolbar.
  3. In the panel that opens, click + Add Grouping Criteria.
  4. Select the field you want to use for grouping.
  5. Check whether cards are automatically grouped into different columns based on that field value.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the board shows multiple group columns based on field values.
  • What you can do next: you can continue browsing, dragging, or editing cards inside each group.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you are not in Board View, the Grouping Criteria entry will not appear in the top toolbar.
  • Environment note: grouping criteria is available in Board View only.

2. Add a new group column

Entry: Right side of Board View → + Add Group

  1. In Board View, click + Add Group on the right side.
  2. In the Select grouping criteria for board view dialog box, click + Add Field.
  3. Select an option-type field as the grouping basis.
  4. Click OK to finish adding the group column.
  5. Check whether unmatched items appear in the Ungrouped column.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: a new group column appears on the right side of the board, and unmatched cards appear in the Ungrouped column.
  • What you can do next: you can drag cards into the new group or adjust field values.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you choose a field that is not an option-type field, the group column may not be created as expected.
