1. Import a local file from the bottom sheet bar

Entry path: Bottom sheet bar +Import File DataFrom Local File

  1. Open a spreadsheet and click the + button in the bottom sheet bar.
  2. Select Import in the pop-up menu.
  3. Select Import File Data and then From Local File.
  4. Drag a file into the dialog, press Ctrl+V to paste a copied file, or click Click to Select File.
  5. Choose the XLSX, XLS, ET, or CSV file that you want to import.
  6. Wait for the data to be imported into the current worksheet.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the current worksheet shows the imported data.
  • Next action available: you can edit, filter, or save the imported content immediately.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you are not working inside a spreadsheet document, the bottom sheet bar entry may not be visible.
  • Environment note: larger files may take longer to import.

2. Import a local file from the Data tab

Entry path: Data tab → Data ImportImport File DataFrom Local File

  1. Open a spreadsheet and click the Data tab in the top ribbon.
  2. Select Data Import.
  3. Select Import File Data and then From Local File.
  4. Click Select File and choose the file from your computer.
  5. Confirm the file and wait for the data to load into the current worksheet.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the selected file data appears in the current worksheet.
  • Next action available: you can continue editing, formatting, or saving the sheet.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: opening a file is different from importing file data into the current worksheet.
  • Environment note: confirm that the file format is one of the supported spreadsheet or CSV types.

3. Import an online document from the bottom sheet bar

Entry path: Bottom sheet bar +Import File DataFrom Online Document

  1. Click the + button in the bottom sheet bar.
  2. Select ImportImport File DataFrom Online Document.
  3. Click Select File to open the cloud document picker.
  4. In the left navigation, switch among Recent, Starred, Shared, My Cloud Docs, My Device, or Frequently Used as needed.
  5. Select the target online file and click OK.
  6. Wait for the data to be imported into the current worksheet.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the current worksheet displays data from the selected online document.
  • Next action available: you can continue editing and processing the imported data in the same sheet.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you are not signed in, the online document list may be incomplete.
  • Environment note: this flow requires a stable network connection.

4. Import an online document from the Data tab

Entry path: Data tab → Data ImportImport File DataFrom Online Document

  1. Open a spreadsheet and click the Data tab.
  2. Select Data Import.
  3. Select Import File Data and then From Online File.
  4. In the file picker, browse and select the target cloud document.
  5. Confirm the selection to complete the import.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: data from the selected online file appears in the current worksheet.
  • Next action available: you can continue organizing, saving, or sharing the sheet.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: do not confuse From Online File with From Local File.
  • Environment note: if the online file list loads slowly, check your network and sign-in status first.
