1. Create an Email Field
Entry point: the + button on the right side of the header → Field Type drop-down list → Email
- Click the + button on the right side of the table header.
- In the field type list, select Email.
- Enter a field name.
- Click OK to finish creating the field.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: a new email field column appears in the table.
- What you can do next: you can enter email addresses in cells under that column.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you choose another field type, the cells will not follow email-format validation rules.
- Environment note: open a Smart Table view that supports field management first.
2. Enter an Email Address
Entry point: target cell → type an email address
- Click the target cell in the email field column.
- Enter an email address, such as
example@wps.cn. - Let the app check the email format automatically, and correct the address if prompted.
- Press Enter to confirm the entry.
- After the entry is accepted, the cell shows a clickable email address.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the cell displays the entered email address.
- What you can do next: click the address to open your default mail app.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if the address is missing
@or a complete domain, the app prompts you to correct it.- Environment note: whether clicking the address opens a draft message depends on whether Windows already has a default mail app set.
