1. Create an Email Field

Entry point: + button on the right side of the table header → Field type list → Email

  1. Click the + button on the right side of the table header.
  2. Select Email from the field type list.
  3. Enter a field name.
  4. Click OK to finish creating the field.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new email field column appears in the table.
  • Next action available: You can start entering email addresses in that column.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you choose another field type by mistake, the cells will not follow email field behavior.

2. Enter and Validate an Email Address

Entry point: target cell in the email field

  1. Click the target cell in the email field.
  2. Enter an email address, such as example@wps.cn.
  3. Press Enter to confirm the entry.
  4. If the format is invalid, follow the on-screen prompt and correct it before confirming again.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The entered email address appears in the cell.
  • Next action available: The address is saved in the current record.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the address is missing @ or has an incomplete domain, the app prompts you to correct it.

3. Click an Email Address to Compose a Message

Entry point: a cell that already contains a valid email address

  1. Make sure the cell already contains a valid email address.
  2. Click the email address.
  3. Wait for the system to open the default mail client.
  4. Continue by adding a subject and message body in the mail app.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The default mail client opens with the recipient address filled in.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing and send the message.

Tips While Using

  • Environment note: If no default mail client is set on the device, clicking the address may not open a compose window directly.
