How-to Guide
1. Create a smart document
Entry: Smart Spreadsheet bottom tab bar → + → Apps → Smart Document
- Open a Smart Spreadsheet (
.sst) file. - Click the + button on the right side of the bottom tab bar.
- Move the pointer over Apps in the pop-up menu.
- Click Smart Document to create a new smart document page.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: a new smart document tab appears in the bottom tab bar.
- Next action: the page opens in editing mode and you can start typing immediately.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if the current file is
.xlsx, the Smart Document entry does not appear.- Environment note: this feature is available only in Smart Spreadsheet (
.sst) files.
2. Format content with the editing toolbar
Entry: the top toolbar in the smart document editor
- Open an existing smart document.
- Type text or select the text you want to format.
- Use the top toolbar to set paragraph styles, font size, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, or color.
- Use tools such as superscript and subscript, inline code, lists, alignment, and indentation as needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the selected text style updates immediately.
- Next action: you can continue typing, editing, or inserting more content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if no text is selected first, some styles apply to the text you type next.
3. Insert content with slash commands or the insert button
Entry: type / in the editor, or click + Insert
- Click in the smart document editing area to place the cursor.
- Type
/to open the quick insert menu, or click + Insert. - Select the content type you want, such as an image, table, or code block.
- Continue editing after the content is inserted.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the selected content block is inserted at the current cursor position.
- Next action: you can keep editing text or adjust the inserted content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if the cursor is not inside the editing area, typing
/will not open the insert menu.
4. Navigate with the outline panel and bottom tab bar
Entry: left outline panel; bottom tab bar
- Apply heading styles to section titles in the document.
- Check whether the left outline panel generates navigation items automatically.
- Click an outline item to jump to the related section.
- Use the bottom tab bar to switch between worksheets, data tables, and smart documents.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the left side shows an outline, and the bottom area shows multiple component tabs.
- Next action: you can move quickly between different content areas.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if heading styles are not used, the outline panel will not generate the document structure.
