1. Start the Eraser feature

Entry: Select a table → Table Style → Eraser

  1. Select the table you want to edit in your presentation.
  2. Click the Table Style tab.
  3. Click the Eraser button.
  4. Confirm that the mouse pointer changes to an eraser shape.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The ribbon shows that Eraser-related editing is active.
  • What you can do next: Move the pointer to a table border and prepare to erase it.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the table is not selected first, the related tab and button may not appear.

2. Remove table borders with Eraser

Entry: Table Style → Eraser

  1. After starting Eraser, move the mouse to the table border you want to remove.
  2. Wait until the target border is highlighted.
  3. Click the left mouse button to remove that border.
  4. Check whether the adjacent cells now show a merged effect.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The clicked border disappears.
  • What you can do next: Continue erasing other borders or keep editing the table.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you click away from the target border, the expected divider may not be removed.
  • Environment note: This feature works in an editable table context, so the table object needs to remain editable.

3. Exit Eraser mode

Entry: Esc key or another tool

  1. After removing the needed borders, press Esc.
  2. Or click another feature to switch to a different action.
  3. Confirm that the mouse pointer returns to its normal shape.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The pointer no longer appears as an eraser.
  • What you can do next: Continue selecting, typing, or using other editing tools.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not exit Eraser mode, clicking the table again may still erase borders.
