1. Create a local archive folder

Entry path: Settings → Mail Tools → Local Archive Management

  1. Open WPS Mail and click the settings button in the upper-right corner.
  2. Open Settings, then select Mail Tools in the left navigation pane.
  3. Open Local Archive Management.
  4. In the local archive folder list, click Create Local Archive Folder.
  5. Confirm the action to create the folder and return to the mail home page.
  6. Use the new folder as the destination for later archive actions.
  7. If needed, right-click the created local archive folder to open management options such as deletion.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The new local archive folder appears in the local archive folder list.
  • Next action available: The folder can be selected later as an archive destination in archive rules.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not enter Mail Tools first, you may not see Local Archive Management.

2. Set automatic archive rules

Entry path: Settings → Mail Tools → Local Archive Management → Settings

  1. Open WPS Mail and go to Settings.
  2. Select Mail Tools and then Local Archive Management.
  3. In the Automatic Archive Rules area, click Settings and then New Rule.
  4. Enter a rule name.
  5. Set the response scope to define which messages should be archived.
  6. Set the response frequency to define how often archiving runs.
  7. Set the Earlier than time condition for the target messages.
  8. In Archive to local folder, choose the destination archive folder.
  9. If you want the rule to run right away, select Run once immediately after adding.
  10. Click Add to save and apply the rule.

  • Interface result: The new rule appears in the automatic archive rule list.
  • Next action available: The rule can archive messages based on the selected scope, frequency, and time condition.

3. View archived mail

Entry path: Mail list → Local Archive folder

  1. In the left-side mail list, find the Local Archive folder.
  2. Expand the folder to view archived messages.
  3. Double-click a message to read the full content and attachments offline.

  • Interface result: Archived messages are visible in the Local Archive folder.
  • Next action available: You can open the message body and attachments.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the archive rule has not run yet, the folder may still be empty.
