1. Create an Email Rule

- In mail settings, open the Email Rules tab.
- Click New Rule.
- Set matching conditions such as sender, subject, or keywords.
- Choose whether the rule should match all conditions or any condition.
- Set the action, such as moving to a folder, marking as read, starring, or deleting.
- Select options as needed to enable the rule for new mail, apply it to existing matching mail, or stop later rules after this one runs.
- Click Save.
Success Criteria
- The new rule appears in the Email Rules list.
- New matching messages are processed automatically.
- If existing-mail application was selected, matching older messages are also processed.
Tips While Using
- More specific conditions usually produce more stable results.
- If a rule moves or deletes mail, test it with a narrower condition first.
2. Manage Rule Priority
Entry: Email Rules list → Drag to reorder
- Open the Email Rules list.
- Find the rule whose order you want to change.
- Drag the rule up or down.
- Confirm that the top-to-bottom order matches your intended execution sequence.
- If needed, enable, disable, or edit the related rule at the same time.
Success Criteria
- The rule order is updated in the list.
- When multiple rules match the same message, they follow the new order.
Tips While Using
- Put higher-priority rules closer to the top of the list.
- If a rule is set to stop later rules, rules below it may not run.
3. Edit Delete and Run Rules
Entry: Email Rules list → More options (...)
- In the Email Rules list, find the target rule.
- Click the More option next to the rule.
- Select Edit to change conditions or actions.
- Select Delete to remove the rule.
- Select Run once to apply the rule manually.
Success Criteria
- Edited rules save successfully and show the latest settings.
- Deleted rules no longer appear in the list.
- After a manual run, matching messages are processed again.
Tips While Using
- Before deleting a rule, confirm that you no longer need that automation flow.
- After running a rule manually, check the target folder or message status changes.
