How-to Guide
1. Add a forwarding address
Entry point: Mail Settings → Auto Forward
- Open WPS Mail and click Settings in the upper-right corner.
- On the mail settings page, switch to the Auto Forward tab.
- Click Add forwarding address.
- Enter the email address that should receive forwarded messages.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The new forwarding address appears on the Auto Forward page.
- Next action available: You can continue to email address verification.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: An incorrect email address can cause verification to fail later.
- Environment note: The destination mailbox must be able to receive verification emails.
2. Complete forwarding address verification
Entry point: Mail Settings → Auto Forward
- Check the current verification status next to the forwarding address you added.
- Open the destination mailbox and look for the verification email.
- Follow the prompt in the email to complete address verification.
- If verification is incomplete or the status is abnormal, click Verify again to start the process again.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The forwarding address shows as verified or ready to use.
- Next action available: You can continue to set automatic forwarding behavior and post-forward handling.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Forwarding may not take effect before verification is completed.
- Environment note: If the email does not arrive, check the spam folder or confirm that the address was entered correctly.
3. Set how forwarded messages are handled
Entry point: Mail Settings → Auto Forward
- On the Auto Forward page, confirm that the destination forwarding address has been verified.
- Find the setting for actions applied to forwarded messages.
- Choose one option as needed: keep the original message, keep it and mark it as read, or delete the original message.
- Save the setting and wait for new incoming mail to follow the forwarding flow.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected handling option is saved.
- Next action available: Newly received messages will follow the current forwarding setting.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you choose Delete original message by mistake, the original mailbox will no longer keep that new message.
- Environment note: A newly created forwarding rule applies to newly received messages by default, so older messages need to be handled manually.
