How-to Guide
1. Insert an Endnote
Entry path: Tools → Insert → Endnote
- Open the Writer document that you want to edit.
- Tap the position where you want to insert the endnote.
- Tap Tools at the bottom.
- Select the Insert tab.
- Tap Endnote.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: An endnote reference mark appears at the current position in the main text.
- What you can do next: An endnote input area appears at the end of the document.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not place the cursor first, the endnote may be inserted at the current cursor location instead of the intended one.
- Environment note: This action requires an editable Writer document.
2. Enter Endnote Content
Entry path: After inserting an endnote, move to the endnote input area at the end of the document
- After the endnote is inserted, check the endnote input area at the end of the document.
- Type the reference, annotation, or supplementary note after the automatically generated number.
- After you finish typing, tap the main document area to continue editing.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The endnote content appears after the matching number at the end of the document.
- What you can do next: You can return to the main text and continue writing or insert another endnote.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Do not type the note directly into the main text, or it will not become endnote content.
3. Maintain Endnote Numbering
Entry path: Edit existing endnotes directly, or add and delete endnotes
- Continue adding new endnotes in the document, or delete an existing endnote.
- Check the reference marks in the main text and the endnote numbers at the end of the document.
- Confirm that the numbering has updated automatically in the current order.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The reference marks in the main text stay aligned with the endnote numbers at the end of the document.
- What you can do next: You can continue adding, deleting, or editing other endnotes.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Manually typing plain numbers does not replace the system-managed endnote numbering.
