How-to Guide
1. Add a Department
Entry point: Admin Console → Directory → Organizational Structure → Add Department
- Open the WPS 365 client, and click Admin Console in the lower-left corner of the home page.
- In the left-side list, click Directory.
- Click Organizational Structure → Department to open the department management page.
- In the department tree, select the parent department where you want to add a child department.
- Click the Add Department button in the upper-right area of the page.
- In the pop-up form, fill in the department details, including the department name, parent department, and department manager.
- Turn on Department Team or WPS Teams Department Group if needed.
- Click OK to finish creating the department. The page refreshes automatically and shows the new department.
- If you need to expand the hierarchy further, click Add Child Department to continue.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The new department appears on the department management page.
- Next actions: You can continue adding child departments or edit department information.
- No side effects: The existing department hierarchy remains visible.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If you do not select the parent department first, the new department may be created at the wrong level.
- Environment limits: You need access to the admin console and the required organizational management permissions.
2. Adjust a Department
Entry point: Department management page
- Open the department management page.
- In the department tree, select the department that you want to adjust.
- Click the ... button on the right side of the department item.
- Choose Edit, Move Up, Move Down, or Delete as needed.
- After the action is complete, check whether the hierarchy and department information have been updated.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The department name, position, or status changes based on the selected action.
- Next actions: You can continue maintaining other departments or return to the organizational structure to review the full hierarchy.
- No side effects: Other departments that were not changed remain in their original state.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: Deleting a department without checking related impact first may require later recovery of related team content.
- Environment limits: Organizational changes need a stable network connection for timely sync.
