Will document permissions change after I edit a member's department?

  1. Yes. After a member is moved to a new department, access to documents in that department follows the permission rules of the new department.
  2. Access related to the previous department may be updated or retained according to that department's permission settings.
  3. After the change, review the member's access scope if you need to confirm the result.

Can one member belong to multiple departments?

  1. Yes.
  2. In the department picker, you can assign one or more departments to the same member.
  3. The first selected department becomes the primary department and is shown first in the directory.

Will team groups update automatically after a department change?

  1. If the organization is set to create linked department teams automatically when a department is created, the member will join the corresponding new team and group after the department change.
  2. This update takes effect together with the department change.
  3. If your organization has additional management rules, an administrator can review the final group assignment after the update.
