1. Create a group category
Entry: Admin Console → Directory → User Groups / Dynamic User Groups → Add Group
- Open the WPS365 client, then click Admin Console at the lower-left corner of the home page.
- Click Directory in the left-side list.
- Click User Groups in the drop-down list.
- Select the User Groups or Dynamic User Groups tab.
- Click Add Group.
- Enter a group category name, such as “Approval,” “Project,” or “Security.”
- Click OK to create it.
- After creation, place the relevant user groups into that category as needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The new category name appears in the list.
- What you can do next: You can continue organizing related user groups under this category.
- No side effects: Existing user-group permissions and policies remain unchanged.
Tips While Using
- Use names based on business scenarios so categories are easier to identify later.
- Categories are used for organization and do not directly change group behavior.
- Before creating a category, confirm whether you are on the User Groups tab or the Dynamic User Groups tab.
2. Manage a group category
Entry: User Groups / Dynamic User Groups → More options (...)
- Open the User Groups or Dynamic User Groups tab.
- Select the target category and click More next to its name.
- Choose the action you need:
- Select Add to add user groups to the category.
- Select Edit to change the category name.
- Select Delete to remove a category you no longer need.
- If the category already contains user groups, edit or delete may be unavailable until you check and handle the current contents first.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected action is reflected in the category list right away.
- What you can do next: You can continue maintaining other categories or return to the user-group list.
- No side effects: Other categories that were not deleted keep their existing structure.
Tips While Using
- If a category contains user groups, it cannot be edited or deleted directly.
- Before deleting, confirm whether the category still contains groups that need to be kept.
- Add, edit, and delete actions are all available from the same More menu for centralized maintenance.
