1. Open the business field area

Entry: Click + to add a field → open the Field Type dropdown → find the Business Field area

  1. Open the multidimensional table you want to edit.
  2. Click the Add Field button in the table toolbar.
  3. Open the Field Type dropdown menu.
  4. Find the Business Field area in the list.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You can see the business field category area.
  • Next action available: You can continue to choose a specific field type.

Tips While Using

  • You need edit permission for the current table.
  • If the entry is not visible, confirm that you are in an editable table view.

2. Choose the field type you need

Entry: Business Field area → choose a specific field type

  1. Open the Business Field area.
  2. Review the available field types, such as currency, progress, rating, percentage, hyperlink, cascading options, phone, email, checkbox, and barcode.
  3. Click the field type you want to add.
  4. Finish creating the field and return to the table.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The new field appears as a column in the table.
  • Next action available: You can start entering data in that field.

  • Choose a field type that matches the data purpose to reduce later adjustments.

3. Use common business field types by scenario

Entry: Business Field area → choose the field that matches the scenario

  1. For amount records, choose the Currency field.
  2. For completion tracking, choose the Progress or Percentage field.
  3. For website or cloud document addresses, choose the Hyperlink field.
  4. For contact details, choose the Phone or Email field.
  5. For yes-or-no status, choose the Checkbox field.
  6. For scannable identification, choose the Barcode field.

Entry: Existing field settings → change the field type

  2. Open the settings or type menu for that field.
  3. Select a new field type.
  4. Save the change and review how existing data is displayed.
