What should I do if the Split basis list is empty when I use Split by Content?

  1. Check whether the Split range is set correctly and includes the column you want to use as the split basis.

  3. Make sure the selected range is not blank and does not miss the actual data column.
  4. Select the range again, then reopen the Split basis list to check the available columns.

Do split results stay linked to the source sheet?

  1. Split results are independent copies and do not stay linked to the source sheet in real time.
  2. If the source sheet changes later, existing split results do not update automatically.
  3. If you need the latest results, run the split again.
  4. If you need a history copy, back up the source sheet or the split results first.

Will other collaborators see changes when Split Table is used in a shared file?
