1. Create a Last Modified By Field

Entry: + button on the right side of the table header → Field Type list → Last Modified By

  1. Open the smart table data sheet.
  2. Click the + button on the right side of the table header.
  3. Select Last Modified By from the field type list.
  4. Enter a field name.
  5. Click OK to finish.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new Last Modified By column appears in the table.
  • Next action available: You can open field settings and adjust the update scope.

Tips While Using

  • The Last Modified By field is updated automatically and cannot be edited manually.
  • Use a clear field name so collaborators can identify its purpose quickly.

2. Set the Update Scope

Entry: Right-click the field title → Field SettingsScope

  1. Right-click the Last Modified By field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. In Scope, choose the update condition.
  4. Select All Fields if any field change should refresh the latest editor.
  5. Select Selected Fields if only key field changes should refresh the latest editor, then choose the fields you want.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected update scope is saved in field settings.
  • Next action available: Later edits update the latest editor according to the scope you set.

Tips While Using

  • All Fields is suitable when any change should be tracked.
  • Selected Fields is more suitable when you only want to monitor important business fields.
