1. Create a Last Modified By field
Entry: “+” button on the right side of the table header → Field type list → Last Modified By
- Click the “+” button on the right side of the table header.
- Select Last Modified By from the field type list.
- Enter a field name.
- Click OK to create the field.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: A new Last Modified By field column appears in the table.
- Next action available: You can open field settings and adjust the update scope.
Tips While Using
- Use a clear field name so it is easy to distinguish from other system fields.
- You need edit permission to add a field.
2. Set the update scope
Entry: Right-click the Last Modified By field title → Field Settings → Scope
- Right-click the Last Modified By field title.
- Select Field Settings.
- Choose a scope option.
- If you select All Fields, editing any field updates the last editor.
- If you select Selected Fields, choose the fields that should trigger updates.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The current scope setting is shown in field settings.
- Next action available: After a record changes, the Last Modified By field updates automatically based on the selected scope.
Tips While Using
- If only key field changes should refresh the editor, use Selected Fields.
- After changing the scope, edit a test record to confirm the update logic works as expected.
