1. Open and publish an announcement

Entry path: Smart Sheet data table toolbar > Announcement

  1. Open the data table you want to use for collaboration.
  2. Click Announcement on the toolbar.
  3. Enter the announcement content in the panel.
  4. If needed, double-click the content and adjust the font color, font size, or bold style.
  5. Click Publish so collaborators can see the announcement.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The published announcement appears at the top of the data table.
  • Next action available: Collaborators can open the table and read the announcement directly.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you enter content but do not publish it, other collaborators will not see the update.

2. Edit an announcement

Entry path: Published announcement area

  1. Open a data table that already shows an announcement.
  2. Click the editing box in the published announcement area.
  3. Update the announcement content.
  4. Adjust text formatting again if needed.
  5. Publish the updated announcement again.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The top announcement shows the latest content.
  • Next action available: Collaborators can refresh or reopen the table to view the updated message.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you edit the content but do not publish it again, collaborators may still see the previous version.

3. Hide an announcement

Entry path: Smart Sheet data table toolbar > Announcement

  1. Open a data table that already shows an announcement.
  2. Click Announcement on the toolbar.
  3. Collapse the current announcement area to return to a larger editing view.

  • Interface result: The top announcement area is hidden and the editing area becomes larger.
  • Next action available: You can continue viewing and editing the data table.
