1. Open Announcement and publish content
Entry: Data sheet toolbar > Announcement
- Open the Smart Table data sheet that you want to use.
- Click Announcement on the toolbar.
- Enter the announcement content in the panel.
- Double-click the content and adjust font color, font size, and bold formatting as needed.
- Click Publish so collaborators can view the announcement.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The published announcement appears at the top of the data sheet.
- Next action: Collaborators who open the sheet can read the announcement.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not publish the content, collaborators will not see it as a formal announcement.
- Permission note: Publishing an announcement usually requires management or editing permission.
- Environment note: Online collaborative data sheets require a network connection.
2. Edit a published announcement
Entry: Published announcement area
- Open the data sheet that already has a published announcement.
- Click the announcement edit box.
- Modify the content.
- Republish the updated content if needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The top announcement is updated with the new content.
- Next action: Collaborators can see the updated version after reopening or refreshing the sheet.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you edit the content but do not republish it, other collaborators may still see the previous version.
- Permission note: You may not be able to edit the announcement without editing permission.
3. Hide the announcement area
Entry: Data sheet toolbar > Announcement
- Open a data sheet that contains an announcement.
- Click Announcement on the toolbar.
- Hide the current announcement area to free more editing space.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The top announcement area is collapsed.
- Next action: The data-sheet editing area becomes larger for viewing or entering data.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Hiding the announcement only changes the current view and does not delete the published content.
- Usage tip: Click the Announcement entry again when you want to view the notice later.
