How-to Guide
1. Add a Countdown component
Feature access: Dashboard interface → "+ Add Component" → Other → "Countdown"
- Open the dashboard interface and click "+ Add Component" in the upper-left area.
- In the component panel, find Countdown under the Other category.
- Click the Countdown icon to generate a Countdown component automatically.
- Click the component to enter edit mode and continue with data and style settings.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: A new Countdown component appears in the dashboard.
- Next action available: You can open the editing panel and continue configuring it.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not look under the Other category, you may miss the component entry.
- Environment note: You need to be inside a Smart Spreadsheet dashboard first.
2. Manage a Countdown component
Feature access: Click the added Countdown component → the "..." icon in the upper-right corner
- Click the Countdown component that has already been added to the dashboard.
- Click the "..." icon in the upper-right corner of the component.
- Choose Configure, Copy, Copy as Image, Export as Image, or Delete as needed.
- Return to the dashboard and check the result after the action is complete.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The drop-down menu opens and shows the available management options.
- Next action available: You can continue editing, copying, exporting, or deleting the component.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the component is not selected first, the menu may not appear as expected.
3. Set type and data
Feature access: Countdown editing panel → "Type and Data" tab
- Open the editing panel for the Countdown component.
- Go to the "Type and Data" tab.
- Enter a Countdown name in Description.
- Switch the counting method between Custom Value and Select Field.
- Set Date and Time, Units, and other related options.
- Check the preview on the left, then click OK to apply the settings.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The preview area shows the updated Countdown effect.
- Next action available: After you click OK, the dashboard component displays the new settings.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you change settings but do not click OK, the result will not be applied.
- Environment note: Setting the target time down to the second can make the remaining time display more precise.
4. Adjust chart style
Feature access: Countdown editing panel → "Chart Style" tab
- Open the editing panel for the Countdown component.
- Go to the "Chart Style" tab.
- Set the Time Block Color with a preset theme color or more color options.
- Set Text Color for the description text and number text.
- Preview the style result, then click OK to save it.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The preview area reflects the updated colors and text styles.
- Next action available: After saving, the Countdown component appears in the new style on the dashboard.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the color contrast is too low, the display may be harder to read.
