1. Create a Column Chart

Entry path: Dashboard page → + Add Component → Chart → Column Chart

  1. Open the dashboard page.
  2. Click + Add Component in the upper-left area.
  3. In the component panel, find Column Chart under the Chart category.
  4. Click the column chart icon to generate a default chart component automatically.
  5. Click the component to enter edit mode and continue with data setup.

Success Criteria

  • On-screen result: A new column chart component appears in the dashboard.
  • Next action available: You can open the edit panel to continue configuring data and style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you are not on a dashboard page, the + Add Component entry may not be available.
  • Environment note: You need an editable dashboard page first.

2. Edit or Export a Chart

Entry path: Click an added chart → ... in the upper-right corner

  1. Click the column chart that has already been added to the dashboard.
  2. Click the ... icon in the upper-right corner to open the menu.
  3. Choose the action you need: Configure, Duplicate, Copy as Image, Export as Image, or Delete.
  4. If you want to continue editing the chart, select Configure to open the edit panel.

Success Criteria

  • On-screen result: The chart menu opens successfully in the upper-right corner.
  • Next action available: You can duplicate, export, or delete the chart.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the chart is not selected first, the menu can be easy to miss.
  • Environment note: Before exporting or copying an image, confirm that the chart content is already updated.

3. Configure Type and Data

Entry path: Column chart edit panel → Type and Data tab

  1. Open the column chart edit panel and switch to Type and Data.
  2. Under Data Source, choose the table you want to use.
  3. Under Data Range, click Data Filter to set filter conditions.
  4. Under Dimension (X-axis), choose the field for the horizontal axis.
  5. Under Type, choose the chart style, such as regular or stacked.
  6. Under Metric (Y-axis), choose count of records or a specified field to summarize.
  7. Set Grouping (Legend), Sort By, Sort Order, Display Empty Cells As, and Fields Shown in Detail Data as needed.
  8. Preview the result and click OK to apply the settings.

  • On-screen result: The preview pane shows the updated column chart.
  • Next action available: After you click OK, the chart displays according to the new data rules.

  • Common mistake: If the dimension or metric is not selected correctly, the chart result may not match your expectation.

4. Adjust Chart Style

Entry path: Column chart edit panel → Chart Style tab

  1. Open the column chart edit panel.
  2. Switch to the Chart Style tab.
  3. Under Theme Color, choose a preset color scheme.
  4. Under Series Color, customize colors for each data series as needed.
  5. Under Chart Elements, set text styles, legends, and data labels.
  6. Preview the result and click OK to save the style settings.

  • On-screen result: The chart colors, legend, or label styles change.
  • Next action available: After style adjustment, you can export the chart as an image or return to the dashboard view.
