Why can’t I find the Underline button?
- Make sure you opened a spreadsheet file and that the file is in editable mode.
- Tap Tools, then switch to the Home tab.
- Look for the Underline button in the text-formatting area. The icon is usually shown as U.
How do I remove underline?
- Select the cell or range that already has underline formatting.
- Open Tools → Home.
- Tap the Underline button again to remove the format.
Why does newly entered text also have an underline?
- This is the normal result of format inheritance.
- If you do not want the next text to stay underlined, tap the Underline button again to turn the format off.
- After that, continue typing and the new text will display in a normal style.
