How-to Guide

1. Apply a Table Style

Entry path: Bottom toolbar → Tools → Home → Table Styles

  1. Select the table range, preferably including the header row.
  2. Tap Tools on the bottom toolbar.
  3. Open the Home tab.
  4. Tap Table Styles.
  5. Select the style you want.
  6. Tap OK to apply it.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The selected range shows the new table style.
  • Next step available: You can continue editing cells or save the file.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the full table range is not selected, the style may apply to only part of the table.
  • Environment note: Open a worksheet in WPS Spreadsheet that contains the target table data.

2. Set First-Row or First-Column Fill

Entry path: Bottom toolbar → Tools → Home → Table Styles

  1. Select the target table range.
  2. Open Table Styles.
  3. Select First Row Fill to emphasize the first row, or select First Column Fill to emphasize the first column.
  4. Tap OK to apply the setting.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The first row or first column is shown with clearer emphasis.
  • Next step available: You can continue adjusting other style options.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the header is not included in the selection, first-row emphasis may not highlight the intended header content.

3. Set Last-Row or Last-Column Fill

Entry path: Bottom toolbar → Tools → Home → Table Styles

  1. Select the full table range.
  2. Tap Table Styles.
  3. Select Last Row Fill or Last Column Fill.
  4. Tap OK to save the style setting.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The last row or last column shows a separate fill effect.
  • Next step available: You can continue entering totals or result values.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the selected range extends beyond the actual data, the last-row or last-column effect may appear in blank cells.

4. Set Alternating Row or Alternating Column Fill

Entry path: Bottom toolbar → Tools → Home → Table Styles

  1. Select the table range you want to format.
  2. Open Table Styles.
  3. Select Alternating Row Fill or Alternating Column Fill.
  4. Preview the alternating effect.
  5. Tap OK to finish.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The table shows alternating row or alternating column fills.
  • Next step available: The table becomes easier to review, check, and present.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the table has only a few columns, alternating column fills may look less obvious.
