How to Use WPS Sparklines on Windows

1. Insert a Line Sparkline

Feature entry: Insert tab → Sparklines drop-down button → Line

1. Select the target cell where you want to insert the sparkline, such as H2.
2. Click the Insert tab.
3. Click the drop-down button under Sparklines.
4. Select Line.
5. In the Create Sparklines window, select the data range to analyze, such as B2:G2.
6. Confirm that the location range is the target cell you selected.
7. Click OK to finish.

Success Criteria

• A line sparkline appears in the target cell.
• The data trend can be viewed directly inside the cell.
• The original data range remains unchanged.

Tips While Using

• The file should be in XLSX format.
• The location range should match the dimensions of the data range.

2. Insert a Column Sparkline

Feature entry: Insert tab → Sparklines drop-down button → Column

1. Select the target cell where you want to insert the sparkline, such as H2.
2. Click the Insert tab.
3. Click the drop-down button under Sparklines.
4. Select Column.
5. In the Create Sparklines window, select the data range to analyze, such as B2:G2.
6. Confirm that the location range is correct.
7. Click OK.

Success Criteria

• A column sparkline appears in the target cell.
• Each data point is shown with a column for quick comparison.

Tips While Using

• Column sparklines work well for comparing discrete data points.
• It is helpful to place the target cell near the source row.

3. Insert a Win/Loss Sparkline

Feature entry: Insert tab → Sparklines drop-down button → Win/Loss

1. Select the target cell where you want to insert the sparkline, such as H2.
2. Click the Insert tab.
3. Click the drop-down button under Sparklines.
4. Select Win/Loss.
5. In the Create Sparklines window, select the data range to analyze, such as B2:G2.
6. Confirm that the location range is correct.
7. Click OK.

Success Criteria

• A win/loss sparkline appears in the cell.
• Positive and negative states can be distinguished quickly.

Tips While Using

• Win/Loss sparklines are better for showing direction than detailed magnitude.
• Try to keep the data range in a consistent numeric format.

4. Edit Sparklines

Feature entry: Select the cell with a sparkline → Sparkline Tools tab

1. Select the cell that contains the sparkline.
2. Open the Sparkline Tools options on the ribbon.
3. Change the sparkline type if needed, such as Line, Column, or Win/Loss.
4. Set high points, low points, negative points, or markers.
5. Adjust the sparkline color and style.

Success Criteria

• The sparkline style or type is updated.
• The changes appear immediately in the current cell.

Tips While Using

• Make sure the sparkline cell is selected before editing.
• Different styles fit different data presentation goals.

5. Delete Sparklines

Feature entry: Right-click the sparkline cell → Clear Contents → All

1. Right-click the cell that contains the sparkline.
2. Select Clear Contents.
3. Click All to remove the sparkline.

Success Criteria

• The sparkline is removed from the cell.
• The cell no longer shows that trend visual.

Tips While Using

• Confirm that you no longer need the visual before deleting it.
• You can insert it again later if needed.
