FAQ

Why is the Sparklines option grayed out?

  1. Check whether the current file is in XLS format.
  2. If it is, save the file as XLSX.
  3. Reopen the file, then go back to the Insert tab and check the Sparklines entry again.

What is the difference between sparklines and regular charts?

  1. Sparklines are embedded in a single cell and are suitable for compact trend display.
  2. Regular charts use a separate chart area and are better for fuller data visualization.
  3. If you need quick row-by-row trend comparison, sparklines are usually the better fit.

Can I create sparklines in batches?

  1. Insert one sparkline for the first row of data.
  2. Select that cell and drag the fill handle downward.
  3. Check whether each row now shows its corresponding sparkline result.
