When you use hide or unhide sheets in WPS, common questions usually focus on whether data stays in place, why a sheet cannot be hidden or restored, and how hiding differs from protection; this FAQ includes 4 common questions and a 4-term glossary.
FAQ
Is the data in a hidden sheet still there?
- Yes. When a worksheet is hidden, its data remains in the workbook.
- Hiding only removes the worksheet tab from the current tab bar view.
- After you use Unhide, you can view and edit the original content again.
Why can’t I hide the current worksheet?
- Check whether the workbook has only one visible worksheet left.
- A workbook must keep at least one worksheet visible.
- Keep another sheet visible, then try the hide action again.
Why can’t I find the sheet I want to restore after I click Unhide?
- First confirm that the worksheet was hidden earlier.
- Open the Unhide dialog and check whether the worksheet name appears in the list.
- If the list is empty, the workbook currently has no hidden worksheets.
What is the difference between hiding a sheet and protecting a sheet?
- Hiding a sheet controls whether its tab is visible.
- Protecting a sheet is generally used to limit editing.
- If you only want a cleaner workbook view, use hiding. If you need editing restrictions, use the appropriate protection feature as well.
