Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the gray dividing lines between cells appear or disappear immediately.
  • Next step available: you can continue editing cells, applying borders, or opening print preview.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: do not confuse worksheet grid lines with cell borders, because borders remain visible separately.
  • Environment note: this setting mainly affects the current viewing result.

  1. Click the File menu.
  2. Click Options.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: worksheet grid lines are shown or hidden based on your setting.
  • Next step available: you can continue adjusting worksheet appearance through other view or page setup options.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you do not see a change, confirm that you are working in a spreadsheet worksheet instead of another WPS component.

3. Change gridline color in Options

Entry: File menu → Options → View → Window Options → Gridline Color

  1. Click the File menu.
  2. Click Options.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if cells already have strong borders, those borders may visually cover the grid lines.

4. Show grid lines when printing

Entry: Page Layout tab → Page Setup → Sheet → Gridlines

  1. Open the worksheet that you want to print.
  2. Click the Page Layout tab.
  3. Open the Page Setup dialog box.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: hiding grid lines on screen does not automatically mean they will be hidden in print output; printing is controlled separately in Page Setup.
