How do I copy only the summary results without copying hidden detail rows?

  1. Complete the categorical summary and collapse the outline to the level you want to copy.
  2. Press Ctrl+G to open Go To.
  3. Choose Visible cells only in the special selection options.
  4. Copy the selected content to copy only the visible summary results.

Why is the Categorical Summary button unavailable or why are the results incorrect?

  1. Check whether the data range is a continuous rectangular area.
  2. Make sure the first row is a proper header row.
  3. Check for blank rows, blank columns, or merged cells in the data range.
  4. Select any cell inside the data range again and reopen Categorical Summary.

How do I add a second or additional nested summary level?

  1. Complete the first summary level.
  2. Open the Categorical Summary dialog box again.
  3. Set a new grouping field, summary method, and summary items.
