When using WPS Categorical Summary on macOS, common questions usually involve data preparation, copying visible results, and nested summary settings; this FAQ includes 3 common questions and a glossary.
FAQ
Why does the summary result look incorrect after I create a Categorical Summary?
- Check whether the data range is a continuous rectangular area.
- Make sure the first row is a header row and each column has a clear field name.
- Check whether the range contains merged cells or blank separator rows.
- Choose the correct grouping field, summary method, and summary items, then run the summary again.
How can I copy only the summary rows without copying hidden detail rows?
- Create the summary first and collapse the outline to the level you want to keep visible.
- Use a selection method that keeps only visible cells in the current result area.
- Copy the selected area after that so hidden detail rows are less likely to be included.
Why does a nested summary replace the previous result?
- Open the summary dialog box again and check whether the option to replace the current summary is selected.
- Clear that option if you want to keep the existing result.
- Set the new grouping field and summary method, then click OK.
