Why is the Highlight Text button gray and unavailable?

1. Make sure you opened a PDF file instead of another file type.
2. Open the Edit tab and click Edit Content so the file is in content editing mode.
3. Click Text Edit, then select editable text and try Highlight again.
4. If the file is a scanned or image-based PDF, run OCR first.

How do I remove a highlight that has already been applied?

1. Select the text that already has the highlight effect.
2. Click the Highlight button on the toolbar again.
3. Check whether the effect is removed based on the current interface state.

Why can’t some PDF text be highlighted directly?

1. Check whether the content is real text instead of an image.
2. If the PDF comes from a scan or photo, run OCR first.
3. After recognition is complete, return to Text Edit mode and highlight the text again.
