Tips While Using
- Common mistake: An incorrect destination address can prevent verification from succeeding.
- Environment note: The destination mailbox must be able to receive verification emails.
2. Choose how forwarded messages are handled
Entry point: Mail Settings → Auto Forward → Action for forwarded messages
- On the Auto Forward page, find the option for handling forwarded messages.
- Choose one of the available actions: keep the original message, keep it and mark it as read, or delete the original message.
- Confirm the setting and leave the page.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected handling option remains selected on the page.
- What you can do next: Newly received messages follow the selected handling rule after forwarding.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Before choosing Delete original message, make sure the destination mailbox can receive forwarded mail reliably.
- Environment note: Mail forwarding depends on normal mail service operation.
3. Check address verification and forwarding scope
Entry point: Mail Settings → Auto Forward
- Return to the Auto Forward page and review the verification status of the added address.
- If the page shows a pending or abnormal status, click Verify again.
- Confirm that the forwarding rule is enabled.
- Note that a newly created forwarding rule applies to newly received messages by default, while older messages need manual handling.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The forwarding address shows an available status, or you can start verification again.
- What you can do next: New incoming messages can be forwarded automatically based on the rule.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If verification is not completed, forwarding usually does not take effect.
- Environment note: Existing historical messages are not forwarded automatically by a newly created rule.
