How-to Guide

1. Set up Auto Forward

Entry point: Mail Settings → Auto Forward

  1. Open WPS Mail and click Settings in the upper-right corner.
  2. In mail settings, switch to the Auto Forward tab.
  3. Click Add forwarding address.
  4. Enter the email address that should receive forwarded messages.
  5. Submit the address, then open the destination mailbox and complete the verification step.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The added forwarding address appears on the Auto Forward page.
  • What you can do next: You can continue to choose how forwarded messages are handled.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: An incorrect destination address can prevent verification from succeeding.
  • Environment note: The destination mailbox must be able to receive verification emails.

2. Choose how forwarded messages are handled

Entry point: Mail Settings → Auto Forward → Action for forwarded messages

  1. On the Auto Forward page, find the option for handling forwarded messages.
  2. Choose one of the available actions: keep the original message, keep it and mark it as read, or delete the original message.
  3. Confirm the setting and leave the page.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected handling option remains selected on the page.
  • What you can do next: Newly received messages follow the selected handling rule after forwarding.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Before choosing Delete original message, make sure the destination mailbox can receive forwarded mail reliably.
  • Environment note: Mail forwarding depends on normal mail service operation.

3. Check address verification and forwarding scope

Entry point: Mail Settings → Auto Forward

  1. Return to the Auto Forward page and review the verification status of the added address.
  2. If the page shows a pending or abnormal status, click Verify again.
  3. Confirm that the forwarding rule is enabled.
  4. Note that a newly created forwarding rule applies to newly received messages by default, while older messages need manual handling.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The forwarding address shows an available status, or you can start verification again.
  • What you can do next: New incoming messages can be forwarded automatically based on the rule.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If verification is not completed, forwarding usually does not take effect.
  • Environment note: Existing historical messages are not forwarded automatically by a newly created rule.
