- No side effects: Opening a record does not delete the original file.
Tips While Using

- No side effects: Filters and view changes do not modify the original file content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If a filter is still active, some records may appear to be missing temporarily.
- Environment limits: Some file details depend on cloud document status, so it is helpful to stay signed in.
3. Remove an open record
Entry point: Recent List > file menu > Remove Open Record
- Open WPS Office and go to Recent List.
- Select the file whose open record you want to remove.
- Click the Menu button on the right side of the file, or right-click to open the menu.

Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected file no longer appears in the Recent List.
- Next actions: You can continue managing other records or reopen other files.
- No side effects: Only the open record is removed; the file itself is not deleted.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: Confusing Remove Open Record with deleting the file itself.
- Environment limits: If the file is opened again later, it may appear in the Recent List again.
4. Hide recent records

- Open WPS Office and go to Recent List.
- Click Hide Recent Records at the top of the page.

- Click the option again when you want to show them again.
Success Criteria
- UI state: Recent records are hidden or shown again.
- Next actions: You can continue switching the display state as needed.
- No side effects: Hiding records does not delete the original file.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: Treating hidden records as permanently deleted records.
- Environment limits: This changes only the display state and does not affect the file itself or future reopen behavior.
