1. View the Recent List

Entry point: WPS left sidebar → Recent List

  1. Open WPS.
  2. Click Recent List in the left sidebar.
  3. Review the documents you opened recently.
  4. Check the location, creator, last modified time, and size for each file.
  5. Click the target document to open it again and continue editing.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Recent List page opens and shows recent document records.
  • Next action available: You can open a listed document directly.

Tips While Using

  • If you are not signed in, recent activity synced across devices may be incomplete.
  • Local files and cloud documents may behave differently when opened on another device.

2. Adjust Recent List Settings

Entry point: Recent List → top settings area

  1. Open WPS and go to Recent List.
  2. Use All Types at the top to filter by file type.
  3. Use Creator to narrow the records by file owner or creator.
  4. Click Settings if you want to change the display view or customize visible list elements.
  5. Select a document to review its details in the File Info area.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The list changes according to the selected filters or display settings.
  • Next action available: You can locate a target file more quickly and review its details.

Tips While Using

  • If a file does not appear, clear or adjust the current filters first.
  • File information depends on the currently selected cloud document record.

3. Remove an Open Record

Entry point: Recent List → file menu → Remove Open Record

  1. Open WPS and go to Recent List.
  2. Select the file whose open record you want to remove.
  3. Click the Menu button on the right side of the file, or right-click the file.
  4. Select Remove Open Record from the menu.
  5. The open record is removed from the Recent List after the action is completed.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected file no longer appears in the Recent List.
  • No side effect: The file itself is not deleted.

Tips While Using

  • This action removes only the record, not the file content.
  • If you open the same file again later, it may appear in the Recent List again.

4. Hide Recent Records

Entry point: Recent List → Hide Recent Records at the top

  1. Open WPS and go to Recent List.
  2. Click Hide Recent Records at the top of the page.
  3. The recent records for the current account are hidden.
  4. Click the same option again when you want to show them again.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The recent records area is hidden or shown again.
  • Next action available: You can switch between hidden and visible states as needed.

Tips While Using

  • Hiding recent records is different from removing a record.
  • To remove only one record, use Remove Open Record instead.
