WPS Sync Folder on Windows FAQ

Last updated:July 17, 2026

When using WPS Sync Folder, common questions usually fall into 3 areas, including sync icons, nested folders, and deletion behavior; this section covers 3 frequently asked questions.

FAQ

What should I do if the sync folder does not show a sync icon?

  1. Check whether security software on the computer is blocking WPS-related processes.
  2. Open your startup or security software settings and confirm that WPS Cloud processes are not disabled.
  3. Remove the block, reopen WPS Cloud, and check whether the sync icon appears again.

Can sync folders be used with nested folders?

  1. Yes. You can place subfolders inside a sync folder.
  2. Move the subfolder you want to manage into the synced parent folder.
  3. Return to sync details or the local folder and confirm that the subfolder content is included in the sync scope.

What happens to the cloud file after I delete a local file?

  1. Confirm first whether the file is inside a sync folder.
  2. If the file is in a sync folder, deleting it locally or in the cloud deletes the matching file on the other side as well.
  3. If multiple devices are syncing the same folder, the deletion also reaches those devices, so back up important files before deleting them.
